Extension of multidimensional microscopy to
ultra-sensitive applications with maximum-likelihood analysis

We have developed and used Monte Carlo simulation programs for studies of the capabilities of maximum-likelihood based algorithms for unmixing the contributions from different species in multi-channel spectroscopic measurements and imaging experiments. Results of some of the studies are presented here:

The algorithms have since been incorporated into a program written in C/C++ that can be guided by the user to either generate new simulated data or perform analysis on previously simulated, or experimental data.
